Solar Repair in The Colony

If your system is making less power than it should, we test each part until the cause turns up. You get photos of what broke before any fix starts. Walkways get covered, scraps get picked up, and your yard and roof stay tidy.

What solar repair covers

A solar system has a lot of parts that can quit: the panels, the wiring under them, the connectors, the inverter, the breakers and the monitoring. Most of the time only one small piece has failed. The trick is finding it without guessing and without swapping parts you didn't need.

We fix systems we installed and systems someone else put in. We hold over 40 solar certificates and licenses, so we can work on most panel brands, string inverters and microinverters you'll find on homes around here.

We also treat your home like it matters. Drop cloths go down at the electrical panel, walkways stay clear, and every loose clip, wire scrap and screw gets picked up before we pull out of the driveway.

What we do on a repair visit

Full system testing

We check voltage and current on each string or panel, look at the inverter logs, and compare what you're making to what the system should make. That tells us where to look before anyone climbs a ladder.

Inverter and microinverter work

Inverters are the part that fails most often. We read the error codes, test the unit, and replace it or file the claim with the maker if it's still under their coverage.

Wiring and connector repair

Loose or burnt connectors and chewed wires cause a lot of lost power. We replace damaged runs and connectors and secure the wiring so it can't sag or rub.

Damaged panel replacement

A cracked or burnt panel comes out and a matching one goes in. If your exact model isn't made anymore, we find a compatible one and tell you before we order.

Critter guard and cleanup

Squirrels and birds like the shade under panels. We clear out nests and debris and can add mesh guard so they stay out, then haul everything away.

Monitoring reconnect

If your app stopped reporting, we get it talking again so you can see your production from your phone.

Signs your system needs a repair

  • Your bill went up for no reason

If your power bill climbs while your usage stays about the same, your panels may not be making what they used to. Check your monitoring app against last year's numbers for the same month.

  • Red or orange inverter light

A steady green light is normal. Red, orange or a blinking fault code means the inverter has shut down or limited itself.

  • Monitoring went dark

Sometimes it's just the Wi-Fi. Sometimes the system is off and the app is the only thing telling you.

  • Cracks or burn marks after a storm

Hail and wind in North Texas can crack glass or loosen hardware. A cracked panel lets water in and will keep losing output.

  • A breaker that keeps tripping

If the solar breaker won't stay on, leave it off and give us a call. That usually points to a wiring or inverter fault that needs a look.

How a repair visit goes

  1. 1

    We talk on the phone

Tell us what you're seeing, what brand of inverter you have, and when it started. A few photos of the inverter screen help a lot.

  2. 2

We test and find the fault

On the visit we test the system before we touch anything. We take photos of what we find so you can see the problem yourself.

  3. 3

    You get a written estimate

We write out the parts and labor line by line. If it's a repair, we say so. If replacement makes more sense, we explain why and you decide.

  4. 4

We fix it and test again

Once the work is done we run the system and confirm it's producing what it should. We show you the numbers before we leave.

  5. 5

    We clean up

Old parts, packaging and every small scrap go with us. We sweep the driveway and check the yard for anything that fell off the roof.

What moves the price of a repair

Most repairs come down to what failed and how hard it is to reach. We don't quote a number until we've tested the system and know what's wrong. Then you get it in writing before any work starts.

What part failed
A loose connector is a small fix. A new inverter or a run of new wiring costs more in parts and time.
Maker's coverage
Many panels and inverters carry a manufacturer warranty. If yours is covered, the part may cost you little or nothing and you pay for labor.
Roof access
A two-story home or a steep roof takes more setup and safety gear. Panels in the middle of an array may mean pulling others to reach them.
Parts availability
Older or discontinued equipment can take longer to source, and sometimes a newer compatible part changes the scope.

Solar repair questions

Something not covered here? (972) 640-8783

Can you fix a system another company installed?

Yes. If the company that put in your system closed or stopped answering, we can still help. We work on most common panel and inverter brands.

Should I repair or replace my system?

Most of the time a repair is the right answer. If your panels are badly degraded or the equipment is very old, we'll show you the numbers and let you decide. We won't push a new system you don't need.

Do I need to be home for the visit?

It helps to be there at the start so we can ask questions and get into the electrical panel or garage. Once we're on the roof you don't have to stay. We walk you through what we did at the end.

Will you leave a mess on my roof or yard?

No. We put down covers where we work, keep tools and parts in one spot, and pick up every scrap and loose screw before we leave. We do a last walk around the house to check.

How long does a repair take?

Many repairs are done in one visit. If we need to order a part, we make the system safe, tell you when the part is due, and come back to finish.
