Solar Panel Installation in The Colony, TX
We design and install solar for homes in The Colony and the towns around it. We size the system from your real power bills, handle the permit, and work clean. Drop cloths go down, scraps get picked up daily, and your driveway looks the way we found it.
What a Solar Install Gets You
A solar system is panels on the roof, racking that holds them, an inverter that turns their power into the kind your home uses, and the wiring that ties it all into your electric panel. Done right, it quietly makes power for decades. Done sloppy, it leaks, trips breakers, or fails inspection.
Our crew brings over 40 solar certificates and licenses to every job. You'll find the payoff in spots nobody looks at after we pack up: sealed roof penetrations, straight conduit runs, and breakers labeled so your next electrician knows what's what.
We also treat your home like it's ours while we're there. Ladders get padded, walkways get covered, and nothing sits in your yard overnight that doesn't need to.
What the Work Includes
- Usage review and system sizing
- We look at a year of your electric bills and your roof layout. Then we size the system to what you actually use, not the biggest number that fits.
- Roof check before anything goes up
- We walk the roof and look at the shingles, decking, and rafters. If the roof is close to needing replacement, we tell you plainly so you can deal with it before panels go on.
- Permits and the utility hookup request
- The city permit is on us, and so is booking the inspector. We also send your electric provider the interconnection application. You sign a few forms, and we keep the file moving until it's approved.
- Racking, panels, and wiring
- Mounts are flashed and sealed at every roof attachment. Wire runs go in conduit, routed neat and close to the roofline so they don't look like an afterthought.
- Daily cleanup
- Before we leave each day, we sweep the driveway, run a magnet over the lawn for stray screws, and haul off packaging. No cardboard piles left by your garage.
When Solar Makes Sense for Your Home
Your summer bills keep climbing
North Texas summers run the AC hard for months. If your July and August bills sting every year, that's the load solar handles best.
You have open, south or west roof space
A roof face with few vents and little shade gives panels the most sun. East-facing roofs can work too; we'll show you the numbers.
You plan to stay a while
Solar earns back its cost slowly. The more years you live in the house after the install, the better the numbers tend to look.
Your roof is in good shape
Panels sit on the roof for a long time. A sound roof with plenty of life left is the right starting point.
How Install Day Goes
- 1
We protect the property first
We lay drop cloths on walkways and near the garage, pad ladder feet, and set gear where it won't block your car. If you have pets, we'll ask where gates need to stay shut.
- 2
Racking and panels go up
The crew marks rafters, sets flashed mounts, and rails, then lifts and fastens the panels. Most homes take one to three days on the roof depending on size.
- 3
Electrical tie-in
We mount the inverter or disconnect equipment and connect to your electric panel. Power may be off for a short window, and we tell you before it happens.
- 4
Walkthrough and final cleanup
We walk the yard and roof edge with you, pick up every scrap, and show you how to check that the system is producing. Then the city inspection and utility approval let us turn it on.

What Moves the Price
Every home gets a written, line-item estimate so you can see where the money goes. The price comes down to how much power you need and how hard your roof and electrical are to work with. We go over each line with you by phone or at your home.
- System size
- More panels mean more equipment and more labor. Sizing from your real usage keeps you from paying for capacity you won't use.
- Roof layout and pitch
- Steep roofs, many angles, or lots of vents take longer to work around. A simple, open roof face is quicker to install.
- Electrical panel condition
- Some older panels don't have room for a solar breaker. If yours needs an upgrade, it shows up as its own line on the estimate.
- Equipment choices
- Microinverters, a string inverter, and different panel brands all price differently. Adding battery storage now or later also changes the total.
Solar Installation Questions
Something not covered here? (972) 640-8783
Will you make a mess of my yard and driveway?
No. We cover walkways, pad ladders, and clean up every day before we leave, including a magnet sweep for screws. When the job is done, the only thing different should be the panels on your roof.
Do you put holes in my roof?
Yes, the mounts attach to the rafters. Each one gets flashing and sealant so water sheds around it. Our Roof-Mounted Solar page goes into more detail on how attachments are done.
How long until the system is turned on?
The roof work is usually one to three days. After that we wait on the city inspection and your electric provider's approval, which is the slow part. We stay on top of both and tell you where things stand.
Will my panels hold up to hail?
Panels are built and tested to take hail impacts, and most come through ordinary North Texas storms fine. A very large hailstorm can still crack glass. If that happens, our Solar Repair service can check and replace damaged panels.
Do I need to clean the panels?
Rain does most of it. Dust, pollen, and bird droppings can build up over a dry summer and cut output. If you'd rather not get on a ladder, we offer Panel Cleaning.
